Why I built St.Barts

Every business has an origin. Mine began long before St Barts existed, shaped by the place I grew up, the people who influenced me, and one unexpected moment of clarity inside a small factory in Worcestershire.

As a Pear (someone from Worcestershire), I’ve always been proud of our heritage. It’s a county that has produced world renowned businesses: Worcestershire Sauce, Royal Worcester Porcelain, Worcester Boilers and more recently Gymshark. But one company has always stood out for me above all others - Morgan Motor Cars.

I’ve admired Morgan for as long as I can remember. I still dream of owning one. But it was during a factory tour that something clicked. A genuine lightbulb moment.

Morgan isn't like other car manufacturers. They build cars as individual as you are. They still hand‑plane the wooden frames. They still hand‑file the aluminium body panels. They still hand‑press the bonnet vents. They are coachbuilders first, car manufacturers second - craftsmen who understand that excellence comes from focus, skill, and care.

What struck me most was their philosophy:

They concentrate on what they do best - the craft - and partner with specialists for everything else. Engines, gearboxes, chassis: all sourced from experts. Their value lies in the quality of the output, not the volume of the output.

That moment stayed with me.

It made me reflect on my own profession. On what truly matters in financial planning. On what clients value. On what creates long‑term success.

And the answer was clear:

After more than 30 years helping individuals and families make confident financial decisions, I wanted to build a practice that mirrors the Morgan philosophy - a place where the work is personal, the relationships are real, and the output is crafted with care.
